It has been such an exciting time for me these last few months. On July 27, I launched the first two episodes of my podcast The Pancake King: Life and Marriage On the Spectrum. Since then, I’ve gotten many comments and have gained a decent number of subscribers which has helped me stay motivated to keep the show going. To everyone who has subscribed already, thank you! I promise your commitment to this newsletter will pay off more and more the longer you stay.
Maintaining a podcast and a blog isn’t easy work, and sometimes the stress of juggling them while also still working full time and writing a book can make the quality of the content dip. I’d like this to happen as little as humanly possible. With that in mind, I’ve decided that the podcast will be a seasonal show, with a month long hiatus between seasons. Don’t worry! This doesn’t necessarily mean an absence of content from me. The season finale will be released on November 30 and the show will return with its second season in early January (I’ll give away a specific date in a future newsletter). There will still be a Substack post every Saturday, but they’ll be more discussion starters than in-depth articles and asking the readers what they’d like to hear me cover in Season 2 of the podcast (you can get ahead of that by emailing me at the email address below!)
December will be a time for me to relax a bit from producing episodes, but it’ll also be a time when I can better prioritize writing my book The Pancake King: Life and Dating On the Autism Spectrum and map out the outline of the entire second season so that I have a clear roadmap to follow when I fully come back. My wife and I are also planning on moving once our lease is up by the end of the year, so there’s that we’ll be busy with too.
Once again, thank you so much for being a subscriber, a reader, and a supporter. I created this newsletter and podcast to be an encouragement to people on the autism spectrum and help inform people about the spectrum who are not on it. This has also been a way to give people a welcome escape from harsh reality, which has been especially discouraging lately and hard to cope with, and give them hope. This is only the beginning, and I’m very happy with the way this start turned out. Your support means so much to me, and 2023 is going to be an exciting, first full year for The Pancake King. Now let’s enjoy two more months before the season’s end!\
